Janet has been hand-making bags, clothes and soft furnishings for herself and her family for over 25 years and she was so often asked where she had got them from that she had the idea (and the confidence) to turn it into a business. 

Janet’s philosophy is to use the best materials available to create a handcrafted, unique look suited to all budgets.  Wherever possible Janet uses traditional techniques and she can find a creative solution for any requirement, something which a larger firm just cannot offer.  Her keen eye for colour, design & co-ordination of materials means the end products are absolutely stunning.

In addition, Janet’s previous experience in FMCG business means she has exceptional project management and purchasing skills plus a strong customer-oriented ethos. This ensures your projects are not only made to the highest specification but also expertly time-managed, with you being fully involved along the way.  Her negotiating skills also means you will always get the best price possible for your materials as well as allowing Janet to pass on her competitive advantage as much as possible.

Janet set up Sunflower Soft Furnishings in 2005 when she had just had her little boy and wanted a new and exciting, but most of all flexible career. Sunflower Bags evolved about 6 months into 2006 and now is a popular part of Janet’s business, as are her handmade cards, which you can also find in some shops local to Nottingham. 

Janet’s success to date has been built on her gorgeous products, but also on her honest, friendly and exceptional customer service.  Word of mouth recommendation has been her biggest marketing tool to date!
